DOGGONE News.......

31 August 2010

Ha! The past few months have been as exciting as they have been exhausting.

We opend up for our friend DALE WATSON at the Luminaire Theatre in London, played several cool gigs and got ourself invited to Austin, Texas.

The Great North Festival and our first show at the Honky Tonkin' Sunday in Camden were a blast.

Now with the holidays all done and dusted we are looking forward to picking up on some great contacts we've made over the past few months. Our aim to tap into the 1950's Rockin' & Rollin' circuit seems to make some headway. Following our gig at the Luminaire we've met up with a well known UK promoter on the rockin' scene who happend to like what we do. We are all quite excited about this new development.

The middle of this month saw our very own Davey Bell making it to the regional finals in the ITV programme 'Britains Best Dish'. ITV came allong and filmed Doggone at live gig and we're pleased to have appeared on ITV a couple weeks ago.

CD - mmhhh...I am almost afraid to mention it these days. The silver lining however is that we have written several more new and original tracks that we hope will make it on the final disk. Enough said.

Dosen't time fly?

The Germany/Belgium Tour was a blast. We since played at the Rockfield Country Music Festival in Southern Wales - great venue.

Now we are getting ready for Doggone's first AMERICANA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL (check out Link Page). We are real proud to be playing there, we are even named on the official T-shirt!!!! :)

The CD is still being worked on, however there is talk of a single release and video before the 'Big-One' gets unleashed onto the world........mmmhhhh

27 April 2010

Doggone are on the move abroad again. May 13 -15. will see us playing the Little Texas Saloon in Bad Berneck, and at the 18. Country Music Festival in Buecheloh, both in Germany. On our way back we have been invited to do a show at an US Army base in Brussels, Belgium. We're real excited about our first little tour of 2010.

20 April 2010

DALE WATSON is back in London. Dale will be at the Luminaire in London on 11 August and we are damn proud to once again be the opening act!!!!! Yeehaaaa :)

13-14 March 2010

Another brilliant week end at the Country Music Messe in Berlin. DG played in various formations at the Bluebird Cafe and were then requested to play for the aftershow party on main stage , Friday night. We were real happy to have Greg Stocki, drummer to some of Nashville's great country music artists, join us on stage for several songs. What a blast!!!

Following our main show we were instantly invited to play at next years International CMF in Lithuania, another pin in our 'world-tour map'!

A very late outing to one of Germanys top Rackabilly clubs not only saw us dowing numerous JD's, but we also managed to see a great local band as well as John Lewis from the UK, followed by a fantastic Burlesque show!!!!!

And to top it all off, we baged two gigs there in late September of this year. :)

15 March 2010

Doggone are confirmed to be appearing at the ROCKWELL Country Music Festival and, once again at the GREAT NORTH CMF later this year. See our link page for more details.

9th February 2010

Doggone are confirmed to play at the AMERICANA 2010. Yeehaaa!!!

8th JANUARY 2010

Today is Elvis' 75th Birthday (Wow)

It also happens to be the day we are ACTUALLY starting to record our CD. The past two years have been eventfull to say the least, we've played some fantastic venues, toured across Europe and becamce friends with DALE WATSON.

The first session is booked at GET RHYTHM STUDIOS in London and we are all raring to finally get started on this project.

Later this month we plan to be doing several shows in Cyprus, GREECE and in March of this year we are again booked for the 15. CMM in Berlin, GERMANY

DECEMBER 2009

Rick McKay is now fully settled as lead guitarist for none other than Paul Ansell and his No.9. and we're proud of him and wish him well. Rick still joins Doggone now and then as dep lead guitarist.

Harley Dave has moved on to concentrate on other projects. We all wish him well.

OCTOBER 2009

Davey Bell has joined DG has upright bass player. Davey is 20 years old and has been a friend of Frankie Bengels since his school days. The combined age of the band is now 11, LOL

MAY 2009

Sadly, due to personal circumstances, Nick Player has decided to quit Doggone as Upright Bass Player. Nick was one of the founding members of the band and we will all miss him being part of the show.

We are happy to announce that RICK MCKAY has formally taken over from Nick in what can only be described as a seamless transition and Doggone continue to benefit from that slapping, clicking Upright bass sound they enjoy.

Please check out Rick on our Band Page.

MARCH 2009

* BIG SMILES ALL 'ROUND !!!!!!!!!!!

Doggone have been picked to open for DALE WATSON & his LONESTARS at the FOUR CORNERS MUSIC HALL in Germany. Dale is one of our musical 'Heroes' - what else can we say!!!!!!!

Thanks to Bill & Bettina for your support in making this happen.

DECEMBER 2008

* Due to 'Life in General' , the planned start of our first CD had to be delayed. We are now (finally) ready to record and really look forward to a hell of a good time doing it.

NOVEMBER 2008

* Another kickin' week-end at the Nuernberg Country Music Messe in Germany.

We had a great show, transmitted live via the Internet, and we made many new friends in the process. As a result, Doggone are now booked on a Tour of Germany, possibly also incorporating a stint into neighbouring Austria, in June of 2009.

At the CMM, Doggone also backed STU STRINGER, a talented singer and friend on the mainstage of the CMM, and provided the percussion section for Marty Wolfe and TEXAS HEAT.

As always, Doggone was a leading light in the unofficial, but now very much traditional, impromtu jam session after the main event had finished.

OCTOBER 2008

* We have just started the process of recording our album, due for release at the Country Music Messe in Berlin, Germany in February 2009

* The world stock markets are crashing around our heads like drunken flies, but

WE DON'T CARE!!! We are still as poor today as we were yesterday.

* "If you owe a little money, you shoul be worried, if you owe a lot of money - the BANK should be worried"

I like that.
